VISIT FLORIDA will be releasing the video announcement on May 12. Below is information regarding participation in this statewide initiative by the Naples, Marco Island, Everglades Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Naples, Fla. (May 12, 2009) – Collier County’s local tourism industry is joining forces with VISIT FLORIDA®, the official tourism marketing corporation for the State of Florida, and area businesses in a campaign empowering Floridians to stimulate Florida’s economy called Share a Little Sunshine.
The Share a Little Sunshine campaign is a resident-driven, statewide grassroots effort spearheaded by VISIT FLORIDA with the potential to infuse much needed revenue into Florida’s economy. Share a Little Sunshine empowers Florida residents to act now to create revenue and protect jobs by getting back to what matters most—spending time with friends and family.
The campaign calls on Floridians to invite their friends, family and loved ones to Florida to reconnect and share time together in the Sunshine State. All Floridians have to do is visit www.sharealittlesunshine.org, select a free video invitation and e-mail it to friends and family. In less than two minutes, each person can do his or her part to help the state’s economy. As a thank you for participating, everyone who e-mails an invitation is entered into a drawing to win one of 12 weekly Florida trip giveaways. In return, those who receive an invitation receive unparalleled deals and offers for hotels, restaurants and attractions in the sender’s local area.
The Naples, Marco Island, Everglades Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) is participating in the Share a Little Sunshine promotion by offering a trip giveaway for one lucky winner to receive three nights, four days of action-packed adventure on the Paradise Coast. The package includes deluxe accommodations and breakfast for two at the Naples Grande Beach Resort, a family four-pack of tickets to Naples Zoo at Caribbean Gardens, a guided swamp walk for two at the Fakahatchee Strand Preserve State Park, scenic Segway and Naples Trolley tours for four, compliments of Naples Transportation Tours & Event Planning, a romantic couples dinner cruise aboard the Naples Princess, a fine dining experience with dinner for two at Shula’s Steak House at the Hilton Naples and two cheeseburgers in Paradise at Harold’s Place at the Gulf Coast Inn.
“Share a Little Sunshine is based on two ideas. In tough times, people want to do something to help our economy and people want to reconnect with their friends and loved ones,” said Jack Wert, executive director of the CVB. “Share a Little Sunshine gives people the tools to do both.”
Share a Little Sunshine depends on the commitment of Florida residents to help the state’s economy. By working together, residents can help our area recover from economic challenges and showcase the Sunshine State.
The Naples, Marco Island, Everglades Convention and Visitors Bureau is the official destination marketing organization for Collier County, funded entirely by the Collier County Tourist Development Tax, which also pays for beach renourishment and coastal projects, County museums and grants to area cultural organizations and special events.
