Get ready for standing ovations as November kicks off with a flurry of stage activity. The magic begins with the Naples Players, one of the top ten community theatres in the United States. CNN and Money magazine cite them as one of the reasons why the Paradise Coast is one of the top five “best places for a long life in the United States.”

In November, the Naples Players will continue the accolades with performances of Lend Me a Tenor, Much Ado About Nothing and Crimes of the Heart. You can even get a close-up look at what happens backstage at the Sugden Community Theatre with a behind the scenes tour on November 19. The classics continue with TheatreZone’s Man of La Mancha, the remarkable award-winning show based on Cervantes’ “Don Quixote.” You’ll feel like part of the action as the old man tilts at windmills in the intimate, 250-seat G&L Theatre. Move over, Broadway.
The excitement continues with the Gulfshore Playhouse as they bring the best of Broadway to Naples. November’s theme is “Come to the Cabaret” at the Norris Center. Directed and conceived by Tony-nominated singer/actor Brian Lane Green, The Sedaka Show stars Jim Van Slyke with music and arrangements by award-winning Music Director, Tim DiPasqua. Jim’s beautiful voice will charm you as he weaves his way through the music of Neil Sedaka, including old favorites, lost gems and a few surprises. Neil Simon at his best.
Our final show takes us to the Marco Players as they perform the Neil Simon comedy, “Jake’s Women.” This show about a novelist moves between flashbacks and real life as Jake is visited by his daughter, an ex-wife, his analyst, his current wife and a prospective third wife.
