Create your own golf vacation in Paradise and book online with one click. There's more availability, and you'll pay a lot less between April and December. Area resorts with private courses offer easy access throughout the year to some of the area's best golf. These include the LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort and its LaPlaya Golf Club; the Registry Resort & Club and Edgewater Beach Hotel & Club for access to Naples Grande; The Ritz Carlton, Naples and The Ritz Carlton Golf Resort, Naples at Tiburon; Marco Beach Ocean Resort and The Creek Course at Fiddler's Creek. Resorts with public courses include Marco Island Marriott Resort Golf Club & Spa with The Rookery at Marco; Quality Inn & Suites Golf Resort and Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club, with the area's oldest public golf course. The lush, green and relatively flat terrain of most courses can lull golfers into a false sense of security. Florida's Bermuda grass grows differently than northern grasses. Do not replace your divots, as the grass will die. Instead, fill divots with sand. Play target golf. Many Florida course make up for short yardage with craftily placed hazards. Keep an eye on the weather, as sudden lightning storms can pop up, especially on mid-summer afternoons. Head for shelter immediately. Also, counter the sun and heat with plenty of sunscreen and water. Enjoy the wildlife. Bring your binoculars for close up views of birds and other wildlife. Keep your distance from alligators. They can run very fast in short bursts of speed. If your ball ends up anywhere near an alligator, you are entitled to a free drop.
